ST MARY'S CHOIR
The choir is an integral and leading part of the worship at the beautiful Parish Church of St Mary's.
Our music director is Jeremy Weaver and our conductor is David Tilsley.
Outside of school holidays we practice once a week (on Friday evenings) and our busy schedule includes the weekly Sunday Eucharistic service at St. Mary’s, monthly Choral Evensong, Carol Services, as well as sung Eucharist for special holy days.
On Good Friday 2009 we performed the Fauré Requiem in St. Mary’s. In August 2009 we had a very successful 6 day choir trip to Gloucester Cathedral, where we deputised for the Cathedral Choir.
Another recent event was a performance of Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer as part of BBC Radio 3’s Wings Project to celebrate the bi-centenary of the composer’s birth
