THIS MONDAY (6th Feb) : St. Mary’s School for Prayer – All the church family are encouraged to join those in any kind of leadership at St. Mary’s, in making this monthly prayer meeting a priority in our diaries (on the first Monday each month). This month Guy is leading on the subject of Praying with the Bible, from John Pritchard’s book “How to Pray”. Please do come – 7.45 to 9.00pm in the Vicarage this time, as the Bellringers are ringing a quarter peal to celebrate the Accession of Queen Elizabeth II.
Tuesday 7th February at 2.30pm: A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Jenny Pattison will be held in St Mary’s. Her family would be delighted to see there any members of the church family who wish to come.
Monday 13th February, 8pm: The Tapestry Group are holding a working party at the Vicarage. Anyone is welcome to join us in for a relaxed evening making up church kneelers together - no expertise required, just bring a thimble! New and existing helpers welcome.
Saturday 18th February, 7pm: Lenka and Radek would like to invite all church family members and Causeway Residents to a party at the Barn to celebrate their Engagement to be married. This party will be a civilised Black Tie event and will be in aid of Cancer Research. RSVP to Lenka on 07528
SATURDAY, 3RD MARCH, 2010 AT 10 A.M. FOR 10.15. The Annual General Meeting of the Friends of St. Mary’s Church, Horsham, will take place in the church, followed at approximately 10.50 by a talk given by Jeremy Knight, Curator of Horsham Museum. The topic will be Horsham in an Age of Austerity, the 20s and 30s. All are welcome. Retiring collection for The Friends.
The St Mary's church social team invite you to a Treasure Hunt around Horsham on Sunday March 4th, 2pm start at the north door of the church. It will be about an hour’s walk (buggy, scooter, wheelchair and motorized scooter friendly) with lots of interesting clues to infamous landmarks; to be followed by delicious afternoon tea in the Barn with answers & prize-giving! £1 per entry (team) and prizes for all children and for the winning teams. More details to follow but put the date in your diary.
Sussex Churches Visit - Sunday 22nd April: Following past successful guided tours by Mick Hall, a visit, organised by The Friends of St. Mary's Church, to Preston, Patcham, Ditchling, Chailey and Fletching churches on a theme of Morals, Mystics and Memorials is planned for Sunday 22nd April leaving at 11.15 a.m. If you are interested, please add your name to the list on the table at the entrance to the church as soon as possible. Cost of transport is as yet unknown, as this depends on numbers.
Saturday 26th May: St. Mary’s Pentecost Church Family fun day is for all our Church family, young and old. We are holding it at Pennthorpe School in Rudgwick, with a wide range of creative worship, fun activities & workshops for all ages – preparing drama, art, crafts, music that will enliven our Pentecost Sunday services. Please put this date in your diary - booking forms will be available soon.
