Sources of Pastoral Care at St. Mary’s

We do our best to be a church family who care for one another, so please do reach out to other church members if you find yourself facing a particularly difficult time.

We have a pastoral care team of about 30 trained members, who especially visit the housebound and take Holy Communion to those who aren’t able to attend church in person. The pastoral care team is overseen by Morag Davies, who can be contacted on: 01403 240854 or 07974 679399.

Please let Morag know if you go into hospital. We would be pleased to ensure that you are visited either by a member of our church or by the hospital chaplain, but we can’t do this unless you tell us.

Our live-streamed church services are watched on youtube by many people who are housebound, in a nursing home, or in hospital, and can be found by searching youtube for St Mary’s, Horsham. Our techie team would be pleased to help you to access them if you would value that.

All our clergy can be contacted to arrange an appointment; they will be pleased to meet with you and pray with you. They can also help you to access longer term support if it’s needed, such as through a counsellor or Spiritual Director.

We run an informal Thursday Coffee Morning once a month, to which all are welcome. For those who live on their own, we also offer a 3 Course Sunday lunch once a month in our Church Centre. Tickets for this are bought in advance, as it is very popular!

Prayer ministry is offered with the laying on of hands in a side-chapel during all 10am services, where a trained team is available to pray for individual needs, for yourself or a loved one. Regular Sunday evening Healing Services are held at our sister church of Holy Trinity, and Confession (the ministry of reconciliation) can be arranged with the clergy. There is an active “Prayer Chain” which ensures emergency requests are prayed for by a large number of the congregation.
